MNRC offers irradiations in support of 40Ar/39Ar analysis for geological sample age dating.  MNRC offers a relatively large maximum sample size that is up to 1.25 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches long.  Samples can be irradiated with or without thermal neutron shielding in order to be exposed to the full energy spectrum of the core.  Samples can typically be irradiated within one week of their arrival and typically require 2 weeks for short lived activation products to decay before their return shipment.  Irradiations for non-US research institution are available provided all shipping logistics are resolved prior to the irradiation.

Irradiation sample benchmarking data will be made available soon.
